London: J. Luffman, 1819.

An interesting map of North America. The United States is shown extending to the Mississippi River and is bordered by Louisiana, west of which is New Mexico, extending northward to present day North Dakota and Montana. Westward still is New Albion, and the Baja Peninsula is identified as California. A manuscript mark in pencil indicates the expansion of the United States to include the Louisiana Purchase and Oregon Territory.
John Luffman (1776-1820) was an engraver, geographer, publisher and goldsmith based in London.
Condition: Very Good(+)
