A.L.S. 8vo. 1 page, mourning stationary, The Royal Haymarket, September 22nd 1855, explaining to the recipient that he is overwhelmed with work, in full: "I have so many manuscripts sent to me and I find it utterly impossible to read them all - send the title of your work and I will either read or return it immediately." Bottom black border has been trimmed, otherwise in very good condition.
English actor and playwright associated with the Adelphi Theater and later, the manager of the Haymarket Theater from 1853-1877.
