Autograph Letter Signed

New York: 1866.

A.L.S. 8vo. 2 pages, Office of the Tribune, New York, August 9, 1866, a very chatty letter signed twice discussing his family, in part: "...Your letter received this city the day after I left on a little trip. I took Mrs. Greeley to Fair Haven and there left her while the children and I ran off to spend time in the White Mountains, then came back to bed, and returned to the city, to me real bed last Sunday. Mrs G. (now at the farm) is a very sick woman - but seemed better this morning. I think it could be very easy to get your son paid for his work. Get him to see me just before next session, and I will try to put him on a good footing with the committee. It couldn't be different. I am not yet done with my book - the very last proofs you'll be send by sunset Wednesday..." Reinforced margin on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.
