While I appreciate this invitation very much, I am afraid that duties devolving upon me will prevent me from accepting any additional undertakings in the foreseeable future. Fine condition.

United States Senator from North Carolina best remembered for chairing the U.S. Senate Watergate Hearings (1973 - 1974). The Senate Watergate Hearings literally made over-night stars out of certain politicians including Senators Sam Ervin, Fred Thompson, and Howard Baker. With their new-found fame each Senator discovered the immediate necessity of having to purchase an Autopen machine. This explains why anything authentically signed and dated during the actual hearings is very scarce.
