1 page set into a 9 x 6-inch page, State of New York, Constitutional Convention letterhead, Albany, June 19, 1867, as a delegate to the Convention, messy handwriting roughly translated in part: "...I do not think anyone could be roused if you'll pursue an enterprise as you purpose otherwise, than as a legitimate business undertaking. It seems to me that Frank Leslie, who issues in New York such a paper as you contemplate, might even look into a Southern counterpart. Much of his old and new material is not in this vein..." Small piece missing at the lower left corner where the recipient removed his name. Good condition.
