Autograph Manuscript Signed

1945.

A souvenir copy of his poem "The Idlers" on lined notebook paper, 1 page, 8.75 x 7 inches, circa 1945 -- all three verses including the original opening lines: "The gipsies lit their fires by the chalk-pit gate anew, And the hoppled horses supped in the further dusk and dew." Uniformly toned with all three folds archivally strengthened on the back. Overall very good condition.

English poet, author and critic. Like his friend Siegfried Sassoon, he wrote of his experiences in World War I in both verse and prose.
