2 pages together measuring 7 x 8.75 inches, Bolton Gardens, London, January 6, 1902, to American publisher Henry Holt, in full: "I have received with pleasure the copy of 'The Independent' containing 'The Sultan Takes' and shall be glad to have the other poem when you print it. I am very happy to have been introduced to the American public in your pages." Mounting remnants along the right margin of the second page, but still in very good condition.
English poet and journalist, who is best known for his work "The Light of Asia." In conjunction with the New York Herald, Arnold arranged the journey of H.M. Stanley to Africa to discover the course of the Congo River, and Stanley named after him a mountain to the north-east of Albert Edward Zyanna.
