Jazzlife auf den Spuren des Jazz

Offenburg: Burda, 1961.

Profusely illustrated throughout with amazing photographs, some in color. 268 pages with text in German, printed on thin paper, somewhat toned; color pictorial endpapers at front. 4to, gilt-lettered black cloth (spine heavily faded, still a very good solid copy of this uncommon book). Offenburg (Baden): Burda, 1961. First edition. Lacks the dust wrapper, and as usual, the 2 very rare 45rpm records from rear sleeve.

In 1960 photographer William Claxton and noted German musicologist Joachim E. Berendt traveled the United States capturing the world of jazz. These are some of the arresting images and recording from that journey.
