1 page, 6.75 x 5 inches, no place, no date, circa 1910. Written to a book dealer who had charged him for an item he did not buy, in part: "...The one I did pay for was Broughams Natural Theology -- please to find it -- I also think I left a red...spectacle case on your counter." Natural folds; unevenly trimmed. Very good(-) condition.
Best remembered as one of the founders of the Los Angeles Times. He also had a military career that included meritorious service during the Civil War and later as a Brigadier General during the Philippine-American War.
