3 pages (front and back), 10 x 8 inches, Washington, February 7, 1835. Written to George Williamson of Pittston, Maine, informing him that the postal routes and delivery schedules have immediately changed between Gardiner and Pittsfield, in small part: "...You was not aware that the P.M. General has directed the mail to be carried every day from Gardiner to Pittston and has authorized Mr. Dearborn to procure some person to do it, at an expense not greater than $25.00 per annum in addition to what has been allowed for the transportation of twice a week, hitherto..." Natural folds but still in fine condition.
