New York: City Directory Office, 1864.
Map. Uncolored lithograph. Image measures 19" x 33.25".
This unusual map depicts New York City from the Battery to 119th St. and includes parts of Brooklyn, Queens, Hoboken and Jersey City in New Jersey. Ward's Island and Roosevelt Island (then Blackwells Island) are also included. Includes the city's street grid plan along with squares, parks, the Harlem Rail Road and the Hudson River Rail Road lines. Central Park is beautifully depicted. Ferry lines are also noted. Usually issued with Trow's New York City Directory, this map was issued as a separate map. Map is in good condition, lined with linen. Some repair over damage along folds where tiny portions of the maps are missing. A nice example of a New York City Map.
