In this document, President Pierce appoints Alexander Murry a "Second Lieutenant in the Tenth Regiment of Infantry in the service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by Pierce and countersigned by Jefferson Davis as Secretary of War. Dark bold signatures, natural folds, and a white seal still affixed and in pristine condition. Overall very good(+) condition.
Alexander Murry (1823 - 1883) was a Civil War officer, 10th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was later commissioned a Major in the Regular Army with the Ordnance Dept.
