Early, scarce, large scale map of Connecticut just nine years after statehood. Explanation index includes Cities, Court houses, mountains and remarkable hills, and county lines. Published in "Dr. Trumbull's History of Connecticut". Hard to find in any condition but especially pleasing in black and white state. Half inch repair to upper right margin with most of 'T' and 'o' missing in "Part of Rhode Island" Large tear into Windham County but repaired well. Overall foxing and folds as issued. Amos Doolittle (1754-1832) was an engraver and map maker based in New Haven.
