London: Alexander Hogg.
Copper line engraving with hand-coloring. Image measures 6.75" x 10.75".
This hand-colored engraving, published circa 1784, provides a view toward Westminster Bridge in London, taken from the tree-lined riverside walk near the Buckingham (York) Water Gate. A number of small boats float on the river. In the foreground, a couple walks on the promenade, their dog in tow. A decorative border surrounds the image and title. The print was published in Walpoole's "New and Complete British Traveller." It is in good condition with some discoloration around the border. Very minor foxing. A lovely view of London's natural landscape.
