Written to the editor-in-chief of McCall's magazine about the completion of his novel, in part: "As one of the prime sponsors of my 'Youngblood Hawke' you ought to know that I finished the work yesterday, 2,785 handwritten pages. I'm proceeding straight to the typing job. I'm reasonably sure McCall's has its money's worth in this novel!" 2 pages on light blue paper, written in blue ink with (horizontal folds; paperclip imprint near the upper left corner of both pages). 7.5 x 5.75 inches. St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, February 11, 1961. Very good condition.
