"Thank you for your kind appreciation of my work...I am sorry that the limitations on my time have not permitted me to comply with your request for my signature and a re-drawing of the original cartoon on Lincoln up to this date." Included is an original drawing on a 3" x 5" card of an attractive lady in a cap with a star, inscribed "For Sylvia Bullis With the cordial best wishes of C.D. Batchelor."
