3 pages, each two-page spread measuring 7.75 x 9.75 inches, London, June 12, 1831. Written by the Radical British politician to the editor of the "London Patriot" newspaper, in part: "...you say justly that I have had to endure a 'strange persecution' indeed and you must be aware that I shall have to encounter great opposition and to explore misrepresentation of all sorts from those who wish to keep the people in a state of delusion...My Action against the Times Newspaper is set down for Tuesday. I fear I shall have to plead my own Cause as I cannot trust my Whig Counsel..." Light stains, probably from sealing wax; strip of paper backing from a mounting affixed along crease on verso. Very good(-) condition.
