3 engraved plates. 629pp. + index. 8vo, cont. sheep; t.p. worn. London, 1833. Volume I only.
First volume of a two volume work by the soi-disant "Hygeist", including several articles, having continuous pagination, but preceded by individual t.p.s dated from 1825-1830. Morison's Hygeian System consisted of the Universal Vegetable Medicine, as well as warm baths and vapor baths. The "British College of Health" was an institution of his invention. Morison's Pills were frequently ridiculed by Carlyle and others. - D.N.B.
