New York: 1926.
1 page on personal stationery, 10 x 6.75 inches, New York, April 27, 1926. In this letter to his publisher, Dreiser requests sales figures for two of his books, in large part: "Because of a special type of novel I have in view, I am desirous of contrasting the respective sales of THE 'GENIUS' and AN AMERICAN TRAGEDY in different communities and parts of the country. To this end I require exact figures, and I want to know if you can, (without too much trouble) - and will - inform me of the exact number of copies of each novel sold by you since its issue..." Two horizontal folds and a faint paperclip stain in the top margin, but still in very good condition. Matted in gray with a photo of a serious-looking Dreiser; set in a silver and black frame measuring 16 x 17.25 inches.
American novelist and journalist who wrote more than 20 books.
