1 page on "NASA Teacher In Space Project" letterhead, no place, 10 x 8 inches, November 19, 1985. Written to a group of students two months before her tragic death in the Challenger Space Shuttle explosion, in part: "...I am planning to teach two lessons from the shuttle and I hope that all of you will have an opportunity to watch. The first lesson will be a field trip through the shuttle and will give you an idea of how people must adjust to live in space. The other lesson will be about why we are in space and will explain some of the experiments that are flown aboard the shuttles and will also mention the satellites which are launched on my mission...I am excited about my upcoming trip in January but I am also missing my classes of junior and senior high school students in Concord, New Hampshire." Set in a white matte and sleek gray frame measuring 15 x 18.5 inches, along with a color photograph of McAuliffe dressed in an official NASA flight suit, holding a small model of the Challenger. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Space Artifacts. Fine condition.

High school teacher selected to fly aboard NASA's ill-fated Challenger mission. Along with all six of her fellow crew members, she died in the explosion on January 28, 1986, at the age of 37.
