First American Edition, containing only 4 of the 6 papers that make up the second (1829) American edition. Papers include one dealing with the nerves of the chest, with the orbit of the eye, and one on motion. Bell (1774-1842) was the leading British anatomist of the period, and is now mainly celebrated as a physiologist and neurologist.
