Perkasie, PA: 1955.
1 page on personal letterhead, 7 x 7.25 inches, Perkasie, Pennsylvania, March 3, 1955. Written to author [Gerald] Johnson, in full: "It was a great pleasure for me to meet you in Baltimore. I have read so many of your articles in the New Republic and elsewhere, and you are quite right that I have often seen you on television. And then, too, I know the long list of your delightful awards. I shall value very much your help in getting our work for the retarded children begun. Somebody has to start everything, and I hope this is something that I can do, with the help of many others." Bottom edge trimmed; uniformly toned. Good condition.
American writer, novelist, and civil rights advocate who was the recipient of the Nobel Prize in literature in 1938.
