1963. unbound. 14 x 11-inch print of one of his most endearing works, "Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial, his head in his hands crying," published in the Chicago Sun-Times on the morning after President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. Inscribed at the bottom: "To Catherine Lynch from Bill Mauldin." This item is not to be confused with the limited edition hand-pulled prints (from the original plate) currently being sold at various galleries nor the edition currently being sold to the public by the Library of Congress. Mauldin's inscription is pale but still easy to read. Very good condition.
