1 page, 9 x 6 inches, no place, no date, but definitely written in 1970 based on a reference by Nagle. In this letter, he responds to a noted baseball memorabilia collector named Dick Debkins, who had requested a signed photograph. Nagle wrote his response on the back of Debkins' letter, in full: "Dear Dick - Am very happy to sign the card + the picture. The latter brought back many happy memories as it was taken in 1905. Just think that was 65 years ago. Am wondering if you know that I have written a book about my baseball experiences. It contains 17 photographs - several of myself in uniform + also in citizens clothes. Casey Stengel wrote the foreword + there is a fine picture of him. Also a picture of the first 10 baseball players to be inducted into the National Baseball Players Hall of Fame. It was taken in Toots Shor's restaurant in N.Y. + he is in the picture. The picture I am so proud of though is the one of Ty Cobb + Honus Wagner shaking hands in uniform. The two greatest ball players that ever lived. If you would like a copy just send me a check or M.O. for $5.00 + I will send you an autographed copy, prepaid. Walter H. Nagle." Natural folds; near fine condition.
Nagle pitched in the Major Leagues in 1911, playing for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox.
