There is also a one-page, handwritten note pasted to the front free endpaper, in full: "My Dear Sir, Mr. Ainsworth has the M S. - I shall see him in a day or two and will then communicate with you - I beg your acceptance of an 'omnibus' and remain yours sincerely, George Cruikshank."
