Illustrated throughout with many fine steel engravings and vignettes after J.M.W. Turner & T. Stothard. 8vo, handsomely bound in contemporary full green polished calf, with elaborate gilt decorated covers & inner dentelles, a.e.g. London: Printed for T. Cadell, Jennings, Chaplin & Moxon, 1830. First edition with these illustrations (second issue, with the vignette correctly placed on page 88). Spine is a bit faded and there are some stains on both covers, but internally clean. A very good copy.
With the Turner and Stothard engravings, which in many ways represent the peak of the artists' genius in book illustration.
