An original full color double-page lithograph after Matisse. Published in Paris for Verve, and printed by Mourlot Freres. Sheet measures 14 x 20.75 inches. Paris: Verve, 1939. A very good bright copy, with the usual centerfold and some tiny holes where the stitching was removed. Two Matisse linoleum cuts are printed on the reverse.
Verve was founded in 1937 as a showcase for work by the day's best artists, produced by the finest printers. This piece was printed in Volume 2, number 4.
