This provides a first hand account of the famous insurrection of Tomaso Aniello (Masaniello), a local fisherman who at age 24 led the populace in their revolt against Spanish rule. In nine days he had 150,000 men under his command and was elevated to sovereign authority. His resistance movement continued until Spain's withdrawal (1707). He has been venerated as the liberator of his counrty, Wing G784A.
