Each title is inscribed by Beauchamp on the front wrapper. Individual titles are: 1. Aboriginal Chipped Stone Implements of New York. 2. Polished Stone Articles used by the New York Aborigines before and during European Occupation. 3. Earthenware of the New York Aborigines. 4. Aboriginal Occupation of New York. 5. Wampum and Shell Articles used by the New York Indians. All titles are Bulletins of the New York State Museum. Laid in are two autographed letters signed by William Beauchamp.The first is 3 pages and the second is 2 pages. In the first letter, Beauchamp lists works on American Indians that could be helpful in the research on the Iroquois. In the second letter, Beauchamp lists corrections for the printer on a unstated book on American Indians. "(Beauchamp) He became, among white men, the greatest authority on the history and institutions of the Iroquois...Especially noteworthy was his work as archeologist of the New York State Museum. Preparing thirteen bulletins for the Museum, he threw much new light on the past of the aborigines. He possessed unusual skill in sketching Indian relics.
