Bound in on page 252 is an autographed letter signed, dated October 6, 1863, from an auditor with the Third Auditor's Office, United States Treasury Department. It refers to account discrepancies and a balance owed on the account of Lieut. Thomas Bonsal of the 1st Virginia Cavalry. Bound in page 48 is a 19th century photograph of a Union soldier in uniform from the waist up.
