New York: D. McClellan, 1851. Pocket map. Engraving with hand coloring. Image measures 14 1/2" x 18 1/2"
This lovely pocket map shows the building lots of Yonkers, located near Point Street Landing in the mid-19th century. Names have been hand-written into slots in pencil, potentially by the former owner, Thomas Lawrence, whose name and address are inscribed by hand on the case's inside cover. Two large elevation views at the top depict two variations on homes that could be built on the available lots. The map's cover is brown embossed cloth, featuring images of a train and a steamship. The map is in excellent condition, with slight separation at some original folds. Beautiful hand coloring. Attached to case as issued.
