This one bears a lengthy presentation to Louis (Auchincloss) from Lewis: "Here is a small work that will fit nicely between your Second & Fourth Folios...I have been holding for just the right person..." Also enclosed are 2 typed letter signed "Lefty" to Auchincloss from Lewis, entirely concerning King Lear- whether or not he was senile, and the meaning of atonement and redemption. (46 lines). One page has a long horizontal tear, but otherwise a fine copy with the Auchincloss bookplate.
