Cryptic Autographed Letter Signed

San Francisco: 1986.

2 pages (front and back) on "Fairmont Hotel" stationery, 6.75 x 5.5 inches, San Francisco, February 16, 1986. In this letter, Hunt sends good wishes to a friend, in part: "...Linda is forcing me to write this B & B note expressing as pleasure and satisfactory for your straitened hospitality. Rallius told me just now that I should have D. M. O. D. which I will next time - (Let me know if drinks are free at the Grove rally). Somewhat more seriously, we terribly enjoyed being with you, Martha & Whitney, and are charmed by your good words concerning 'BP'. A bientot." Hunt's name has been written on the top left corner of the first page, presumably by a previous collector; otherwise fine condition.

Career intelligence officer who served almost two decades as a CIA operative, culminating with his participation in the ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion. He was one of the engineers of the first Watergate burglary and other undercover operations on behalf of the Richard Nixon White House in 1971 -- crimes which led to his conviction on the charges of burglary, conspiracy, and wiretapping. Hunt served 33 months in a federal prison.
