Soyuz T - 4 was the 14th expedition to Salyut 6. Docking was delayed after the on-board Argon computer determined it would occur outside the radio range. In mid-May, both cosmonauts replaced the Soyuz T - 4 probes with a Salyut drogue, an experiment to determine if the vessel could act as a rescue vehicle in the event that an approaching Soyuz craft could not return to Earth.
