Beautiful clear map of Ohio divided into counties. Shows towns, rivers, canals, railroads and major routes. Includes an inset plan of Cincinnati, a profile of the Ohio Canal and a table of distances. Published in "Grosser Hand-Atlas uber alle Theile der Erde." Minor toning to margins and slight glue residue stains to top and bottom edges. Joseph Meyer (1796-1856) was a German mapmaker and publisher. He published out of his own company Bibliographische Institut. With an eye for aesthetics and quality, Meyer's maps are among the most beautiful German publications of the 19th century.
