New York: 1964.
Written on both sides of a 4 x 5.25-inch personal monogrammed card, New York, May 24, 1964. Written to up-and-coming musician Frank Underwood, in part: "...I'd be delighted to listen to your songs. Two things, however: (a) I'm a very harsh critic, and (b) I'll need a couple weeks more before I have the time. If you"ll give me a call around the beginning of June, maybe then we can get together..." Accompanied by the original handwritten stamped envelope with Sondheim's additional signature and return address on the back. Minor staining; very good(+) condition.
Underwood became the leader of the 1970s band Windsong, which featured Annie Lennox prior to her involvement with the Tourists and her international fame with the Eurythmics.
