Typed Letter Signed "Hal" on personal letterhead

New York: 1968.

1 page, 7.25 x 8.5 inches, New York, April 23, 1968. Written to actress Barbara Baxley, discussing his plans for a musical that will end up becoming "Zorba the Greek," in full, "Barbara B. Darling, I do have a conception of the part, but what is more pertinent, I did something about it and contacted Colleen [Atwood], who has an offer to make the film which is being negotiated. Now, as far as your analysis of you and the role, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it, so in the event that something changes, I'll let you know right away. Judy and I are off to Crete for a week of researching ZORBA. Meantime, it's been rather a rotten month. My father died after four years illness and...Love to you both." Natural folds; very good condition.
