Chicago: George F. Cram & Co. 1887. unbound. Map. Color lithograph. Image measures 18 3/8" x 12 1/8" very good(+).
Nicely detailed double page map of California divided into counties showing towns, major routes, railroads and waterways. In excellent condition. After serving in the Union army, George F. Cram (1842-1928) joined his uncle's map business and later established his own engraving and publishing firm in Chicago in 1869. This is an excellent example of his color lithography.
