Written just days before he left the Lincoln Park Zoo to become a national celebrity, responding to a child's request for information, in full: "You will find a full report on the Snowman and the other activities of the Expedition in the 1962 Year Book of the World Book Encyclopedia." Natural folds; fine condition.

Zoologist and curator of the Lincoln Park Zoo in Illinois from 1944 to 1962. In late 1962, he became director of the St. Louis Zoo and partnered with the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company in creating the television show Wild kingdom. Perkins became one of the most recognized television stars, winning four Emmy's before the show ended in 1986. The World Book was a co-sponsor of Wild Kingdom.
