Autographed letter signed by the mayor of New York City, certifying the result of an illegal voting case brought to a Court of Special Sessions and monies owned to a complainant. 1 page on "Clerk's Office, Court of Special Sessions" letterhead with a small ink stain on the bottom right edge. Blue lined paper, 4to, 10 x 7.75, New York, December 20, 1858. Horizontal folds with gentle discoloration; very good(-) condition.
"...This is to certify that...Richard Johnson pleaded Guilty to having voted illegally at the Polls of the 11th Election District...the complaint in said case having been made by George Bursley and the arrest likewise cause by him..."
