Fine content autographed letter signed. 2 pages, 8vo, no date, circa 1890s, in part: "...I am at Harpers every day except Saturday, from 10 till 4 o clock...I did not start to make the Harpers Posters until last March...A representative from 'Prang' called and hoped to give me something in the Poster line..." Penfield created his greatest work while employed at Harpers Monthly. Also included: a short autographed letter signed, written on a 4.75" x 3.75" card, January 25, 1916, Salmagundi Club, in full: "It gives me pleasure to comply with your request." Both items are boldly signed and in fine condition.
