Written to American historian and collector Ben W. Austin, in part: "...My best thanks to the members of the historical society for the honor bestowing upon me...membership in their society. In order to obtain a photograph as you requested...I have delayed writing..." Also included is the original photograph provided by Marshall -- an oval albumin print, circa 1890, 4.5 inches in diameter, mounted to the original matte identifying the sculptor as a member of the Royal Academy.
