Item #212105 Manuscript Poem Signed. Eugene FIELD, 1850 - 1895.

Manuscript Poem Signed

1890.

1 page on cream colored paper, 10 x 8 inches, no place, no date, circa 1890. Handwritten poem with corrections; two stanzas, each 8 lines, written for Col. Charles Kern and incorporating Kern's name twice within the poem. Kern's meeting President and Mrs. Cleveland inspired this amusing poem and the Clevelands are mentioned in the first stanza. Field's signature is darker than the rest of the manuscript and has a small, faint stain partially overlapping it; several folds. Very good(-) condition.
