Beautiful and unusual life sized beak of a flamingo set against a background of Gorgonian coral. Minor wear and aging to edges. Minor stain in lower left. Mark Catesby (1683-1749), born in England, was America's first naturalist/illustrator. He was the first to comprehensively illustrate natural history delineating the American flora and fauna.
