Pelham: 1852. unbound. 4 pages, each measuring 6.5 x 4 inches. Each two-page spread combined measures 6.5 x 8.25 inches. January 15, 1852. From the confines of her estate in Pelham, New York, Morris wrote this letter to her husband Richard about the sale of their plantations and slaves, in part: "...The most distressing act you have to perform is selling the poor negroes. I hope you will be able to get them good masters..." Partial tear along the center fold and several creases. Very good(-) condition.
