St. Croix, Virgin Islands.
1 page, 7.75 x 5.75 inches, on his wife's personal stationery with the "Mrs." and address crossed out, no date, circa 1975. Written to a newspaper publisher friend while on vacation in the Virgin Islands, discussing recent political events from a happily detached perspective, in part: "...From this part of the world it hardly seems possible that there have been political wars going on in New York and wars of a more serious kind elsewhere..." Natural folds; uneven toning on the back barely shows through. Very good condition.
Mayor of New York City in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
