John L. Clawson ex-libris. Autograph presentation copy from Lord & lady Byron, with the following inscription on the half-title in Lady Byron's hand: "To Mrs. Baker, with Lord and Lady Byron's affectionate regards. May 23, 1815." Laid in are Lady Byron's visiting card her autograph signature in full - "Anne Isabella Noel Byron" and an engraved copperplate portrait. On the title page is the autograph of (Mrs.) Isabelle Baker; engraved bookplate of George Baker on a blank flyleaf. Later leather ex-libris of John Clawson. The bibliography calls for printed titles to Byron's Collected Works, which are not present here. As the "Collected Works" was not proposed for publication until July 1815, the earliest copies, i.e. May did not contain them. Lord & Lady Byron had married only the previous January, and they separated the January following, hence this may be the only volume in existence presented as a joint gift from them.
