Modern bookplate in each volume with pencil notations below. The maps are oversize and their margins extend beyond the rest of the pages. Some of the margins have been wrinkled and/or slightly chipped on the outer edge. There has been no loss of text of the maps. Otherwise a bright, clean, tight copy. Volume II is titled: Essais Historiques et Politiques sur la Revolution de l'Amerique Septentrionale. Folding maps include: Canada; North and South Carolina and Georgia; New York State; Virginia, Maryland and Delaware; Pennsylvania and New Jersey; and the Battle of Monmouth. Plates include portraits of John Hancock, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and William Pitt. Author writes of the origins of the American Revolution and its political influence in France and the rest of Europe. He also writes on battles and events in the American War for Independence.
