Written by a member of a powerful banking family on the back of "First National Bank" memo paper listing three other Lloyds as officers, regarding an application to the Land Office of the Dakota Territories one year after the Battle of Little Big Horn. In part: "...address a letter to Gen. Campbell about the matter & say all the good you know about me..." Browning of extreme paper edge at left margin only; pale ink impressions of another letter behind text suggest the use of scrap paper. Very good condition.
