Robert Atkyns was one of the Judges of the Court of Common-Pleas. Lord William Russell was implicated in the Rye House Plot to assassinate Charles II, tried and executed. Atkyns contributed legal advice to Lord Russell's defence. Atkyns defends his innocence and analyzes Parliament's later decision to overturn the treason charges against Lord Russell. Wing (STC) A4140.
